As a business owner, one of things I find really difficult is networking. I know it sounds crazy for the host of a networking event to say that, but hear me out...
You see, the problem with many networking events is that there is no time to build real relationships.
You know the type of event I mean. Loads of people all packed into a soul-less hotel room, squeezing past the striped suits and bulging shoulder bags, ducking outstretched arms, minding you don’t knock over glasses of wine perilously perched at the edge of tables, leaflets being handed out left right and centre, business cards doubling as projectile missiles, making eye contact at 50 paces.....
....and just when you’d got to an interesting conversation you have to stop and listen to the event co-sponsor who happens to be your friendly neighbourhood bank offering to deliver altruism and small business finance packages in the same breath!
Aaaaaagggghhhh!
Why does business networking have to be like this?
You spend most of your life locked away in front of a computer...you make the effort to venture out and meet some fellow human beings and all you meet is a bunch of people trying to sell you the latest Multi-Level Marketing scheme!
So what’s the alternative?
Well, for the last three years a small and changing group of Internet entrepreneurs has been meeting every third Wednesday of the month in a quiet venue with the intention of building solid supportive relationships that last way beyond that evening.
Web Wednesdays is different from your average networking event...

Limited Numbers ...the number of attendees at Web Wednesdays is strictly limited, enabling you a real chance to connect with the right people. Supper is Served ...there’s something quite unique about the relationships that are formed by sitting down to a meal together, so Web Wednesdays provides a wonderful bowl of hot supper as part of the price of admission. |

Masterminding ...if two heads are better than one then imagine how effective six heads can be! So after supper Web Wednesdays forms into groups of six. Then each person has the chance to ask for the group’s help or advice on whatever they want. You will be amazed at how much you can pick up simply by listening to the advice given to other people! 
...at the end of Web Wednesdays we say “Goodbye” and wish you a safe journey home. Make sure you leave your details as we’d love to help promote you. |
